Hoobastank to aid isle Foodbank

The alt-rock band Hoobastank performs in a benefit concert for the Hawaii Foodbank on Nov. 25 - but no amount of money will get you in. The price of admission? Canned goods and good luck.

But for a sure thing, the band plays the next night at Pipeline Cafe - tickets for that concert require a simple visit to ticketmaster.com.

Concert No. 1 will be at the Road Runner Music Hall, Clear Channel's performance venue in Iwilei, which holds 50 people max. Fifteen tickets will be awarded in a drawing, and each winner can bring one guest. To register visit www.star1019.com/pages/hoobastank.html. Call 296-1019.

In addition, a few more tickets will go out in a drawing to Music Hall members, who will be contacted by e-mail about how to apply. To join, visit http://www.thehall.tv/access.asp.

Everyone who attends needs to bring 25 pounds of canned goods for the Hawaii Foodbank. That will yield more than 750 pounds of food for Hawaii's hungry.

Concert No. 2 is at 8 p.m. Nov. 26 at Pipeline. Tickets are $25 ($50 VIP), on sale now through Ticketmaster outlets. Call (877) 750-4400.

Hoobastank also plays the Hard Rock Cafe Maui in Lahaina at 10 p.m. Nov. 22 and RockStarz Nightclub in Kona Nov. 23. Ticket details have yet to be set.

From Hawaii, the band goes on an international tour, beginning in Bangkok.
