Having split playing time at left tackle for the past three games, Hawaii linemen Aaron Kia and Laupepa Letuli could end up playing next to each other this week.

With guard Brysen Ginlack working through a back injury he suffered in last week's win over Louisiana Tech, Letuli shifted over a spot to practice at guard yesterday as the Warriors continued preparing for Friday's Western Athletic Conference game at No. 15 Boise State.

“;I played guard for the last two years, so I'm just getting a hang of it,”; Letuli said.

“;At tackle you're working with open space, at guard you're limited in your space. I like having the option to play both and be versatile.”;

The combination of Kia and Ginlack has started on the left side of the line, with Letuli subbing in at tackle and Raphael Ieru splitting time with Ginlack.

Though still recovering, Ginlack participated in practice yesterday with Letuli and Ieru rotating in as well. Offensive line coach Brian Smith said the left guard spot remained unsettled after practice.

“;I think that could be a good fit for (Letuli),”; Smith said. “;It takes away some depth at tackle, but that's what happens usually. They've got to be versatile and have to bounce around all over the place so that you'll have your best five in the game.”;

Smith hopes senior Keith AhSoon, who injured his knee against Oregon State, might return for next week's game against Nevada.

Savaiigaea sits out

Junior defensive tackle Rocky Savaiigaea got his injured left arm checked out and did not practice yesterday. He practiced Monday and had hoped he might be able to play this week despite a tear in his triceps.

Junior defensive end and special teams player Victor Clore was to have an MRI yesterday to determine the extent of a knee injury he suffered against Louisiana Tech. Clore plays on the punt and kickoff return teams.

Short yardage

Boise State receiver Titus Young is serving a suspension, according to the Idaho Statesman. Young has 10 catches for 168 yards and a touchdown. ... The Warriors were scheduled to leave for Idaho this afternoon and have a walk-through at Bronco Stadium tomorrow.
