Bankoh gives $10,000 to charity

Family Promise of Hawaii has received a $10,000 donation from Bank of Hawaii in support of its programs to help homeless families achieve self sufficiency.

Family Promise of Hawaii provides temporary shelter, food and support while connecting families with community resources for job training, education, life skills, health and housing.

 

CrossCheck joins auto association

Rohnert Park, Calif.-based CrossCheck Inc., the nation's third largest check-approval and guarantee company, has joined the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association as an associate member, and is offering HADA members special group pricing on CrossCheck's standard guarantee and check conversion services.

Haseko distributes $30,000 grant

The Haseko Training Fund said it has awarded a $30,000 grant to the Hawaii Building Industry Foundation's Project ComPACT: Building Skills to Build Lives program.

The donation comes on the heels of another $50,000 grant awarded to the program by the training fund last year.

The Construction Training Center of the Pacific developed Project ComPACT, based on the Residential Construction Academy program developed by Home Builders Institute, the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders.

The Haseko Training Fund provides grants for job training programs, as well as vocational educational scholarships for Ewa Beach residents. The Hawaii Community Foundation administers the fund.

 

Maui agency to handle center's ads

Advertising agency Gilbert & Associates has been selected to handle the advertising and marketing account for The Shops at Mauna Lani on the Big Island.

Dining establishments at the center include Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Kenichi Pacific and Dara's Thai Cuisine.

Hawaii Self Storage to host festival

Hawaii Self Storage is hosting a family-oriented festival to celebrate the opening of its fifth location, in Kapolei, featuring ghoulish games and a costume contest for kids and adults Oct. 24-26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at 488 Kamokila Blvd. The costume contest will be held each night at 7:30 p.m.

Island Insurance debuts discount

Honolulu-based Island Insurance Co., a property and casualty insurance carrier, has introduced a new multi-policy discount for personal auto and homeowners.

Policyholders with a an auto insurance policy and a companion homeowners policy with Island Insurance will receive a flat dollar discount of $50 a vehicle off their annual premium.

Condominium and renters policies would also qualify as a companion policy to a personal auto policy.
