Warriors finish fourth

The Hawaii men's volleyball team, finishing fourth in the THUNDERBALL tournament in Vancouver, Canada, yesterday, had two players named to the all-tournament team.

Walker led Hawaii in all four matches, including 11 kills in the third-place match.

“;It was a very worthwhile competition for us,”; Warrior coach Mike Wilton said. “;At times we did some really good playing and we were a better team than I expected to be this early.

“;We were up and down in both matches with UOP, either team could have won either. The mistakes we made are ones that can easily be fixed in practice. I liked how hard we played and the fact we had two players recognized says a lot.”;

Hawaii returns home and will continue its fall preseason with a match against the alumni Saturday. The event features alumni-alumni matches at 3 p .m. and 5 p.m. with the featured Warrior-alumni match at 7 p.m.

Admission is free.
