Mimi the Motorcyle Maven, our cover pup, is quite the fashionista, with a stylistic bent that runs from aloha wear to black leather. Mimi's the winner of the Star-Bulletin's Hawaii's Best-Dressed Pooch contest, held in conjunction with the opening this weekend of “;Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”;

Walt and Mei Albertson, owner of the 3-pound long-haired Chihuahua, say Mimi loves her costumes. “;She has almost more clothes than me!”; Mei Albertson says.

“;I can lay her down on her back and put her clothes on. She loves to dress up—it's the attention, I guess.”;

Besides, “;I think she thinks she's human.”;

The motorcycle came from a toy store; the photo was taken for Halloween in 2006. No special tricks were used to keep Mimi on the bike. She was able to balance on her own, Albertson says, although they did use treats to get her to look at the camera.

Our contest drew dozens of entries, the bulk of them Chihuahuas, although all breeds were welcome. It was a tough selection process—in the end we went with the photos that made us laugh out loud.

The Top 3 won VIP seats to the screening of “;Beverly Hills Chihuahua”; from Disney (for their owners) and day care from contest co-sponsor Ohana Doggie Day Care & Spa (for themselves).
