Teenager charged in theft attempt

Authorities arrested and charged an 18-year-old Kapahulu man Thursday who allegedly tried to take an expensive watch from an Ala Moana jewelry store in February and allegedly used a knife during a struggle with a security officer.

Johann Pack's bail was set at $15,000 on the charge of attempted first-degree theft. Police said he looked at expensive watches on Feb. 21, then tried to leave the store wearing one. He allegedly pulled a knife on a guard who tried to detain him, dropped the watch and fled.

Pack was identified through a tip to CrimeStoppers.
