The Hong Kong Business Association of Hawaii has elected Johnson W.K. Choi to lead the 130-member organization which works to increase investment between Hawaii and Hong Kong and its neighboring regions. Choi takes office Jan. 1. Group seeks strong
isle-Hong Kong tiesOn Feb. 5, the Hong Kong government will be sending a mission to Hawaii to encourage local companies to bid on U.S.$30 billion in construction work. "They will explain how to bid for the work," Choi said. "It's for infrastructure and buildings."
He is owner of First Hawaiian Capital Planning, a 18-year-old company which does tax and financial consulting work. Choi also was a hotel manager for Aloha Vacation Rentals.
Choi earned a bachelor's degree in travel industry management at the University of Hawaii and a master's in business administration from Chaminade University.
The association was formed in 1994.
