Bullet Donald V. Ables, 76, of Kailua, a veteran, died Wednesday in Castle Hospital. He was the former department commander of the American Legion and commander of American Legion Post 1. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son William and sister Vivian Boatman. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 114 Makawao St., Kailua. Call after 9 a.m. Burial: Valley of the Temples. Aloha attire. No flowers.

Bullet Robert L. Brown, 22, of Kailua, who attended Kalaheo High School, died Tuesday at home. He was born in Kailua. He is survived by son Gabriel; father William; mother Diane, and sisters Andrea Duclayan, Rachel Machado and Kaohinani Brown. Services were private. No flowers. Bullet Marcellino P. Correa, 92, of San Mateo, Calif., vice president of surveying for R.M. Towill Corp., died Tuesday at home. He was born on Maui. He is survived by sister Rosaline Murphy, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services on the mainland.

Bullet Florentina P. Culahara, 91, of Kaunakakai, Molokai, died Dec. 5 in Molokai General Hospital. She was born in the Philippines. She is survived by son Justin; daughter Josephine Rangel, and four grandchildren. Mass: 9 a.m. Saturday at Molokai Mortuary. Call after 7:30 a.m. Burial: Kapaakea Cemetery.

Bullet Patrick N. Drone, 54, of Kapaa, Kauai, a doctor of podiatry, died Dec. 5 in Honolulu. He was born in Glendale, Calif. He is survived by son Rodrigo; mother Florence, and sisters Cindie McConnell and Lisa Drone. Services: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the family residence, 345 Aina Lani Place, Kapaa. Casual attire.

Bullet Steven H. Freeman, 41, of Lahaina, a salesman, died Dec. 3 in Wailea, Maui. He was born in Kansas. He is survived by companion Miller Rebluud; mother Bertha Mae Gero, and hanai family, the Arurangs. Services at a later date.

Bullet Richard Anthony “Rick” Gabonia48, of Hilo, a chef, died Wednesday at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Waipahu. He is survived by daughter Kiley; mother Lucy Watson; brothers Rudy, Calvin and Glen, and sisters Wanda Gionson and Linda Baker. Call: 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Dodo Mortuary. Bullet William Geiger, 78, of Honolulu, a retired fireman from the Pearl Harbor Naval Station, died Dec. 6 at home. He was born in South Carolina. He is survived by sons William Jr., Clifton and Adam; daughters Paulette Doi and Darlene Vaai; brothers Van and Broker; sister Dorothy Jones, 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bullet Richard Ah Sam Ing, 80, of Honolulu, a retired federal fire captain, died Wednesday in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. Bullet Joseph “Noe” Machado, 84, of Foster City, Calif., a retired longshoreman, died Dec. 3 in California. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters Tanya Soriano, Pamela Lau and Tasha and Taina Machado, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services on the mainland.

Bullet Asano Maeda, 88, of Honolulu, a retired Mum's Inc. food packer, died Wednesday at Kuakini Geriatric Care Inc. He was born in Hakalau, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Richard, Howard, Kenneth and Calvin; daughter Lillian Uyeda; brothers Tomoichi, Masaharu and Stanley Sakuda; sisters Shizue Ushijima and Hisae Tomimoto, 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Bullet Magdalena A.C. Manning, 86, of Aiea, who retired from Hickam Bulletin, Hickam Air Force Base, died Tuesday in Oahu Care Facility. She was born in the Philippines. Bullet Toeupuosamoa “Vaaitautia” Niumatalolo, 96, of Laie, died Dec. 8 at Castle Hospital. She was born in Western Samoa. She is survived by sons Tinoifili, Sapati Niumatalolo-Tufaga and Sa'oalii; daughter Molisuitafa'ilagi Mapu; 40 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
