Poamo Aliifua,64, of Pearl City, a retired staff sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, died Nov. 17 in St. Francis Hospital. He was also a former pastor for the First Samoan Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Carson, Calif., worked for U.S. Customs in Los Angeles, and was a disabled veteran. Born in American Samoa, he is survived by wife Salavao; children Priscilla, Joshua, Seth, Gideon, Terry and Ricky Aliifua, Sarah Lauti, Tony Sapiga and Ann Toilolo; brothers and sisters Mila Maefau, Nana Tausaga, Vaiauro Ryan, Florita Sausau and Charlie, John, Fiso, Palati and Samoa Aliifua; and eight grandchildren. Tranquilina C. Andaya,80, of Hilo died Nov. 16 in Queen's Hospital.
