Helping raise money
for Goodwill Industries

Carol J. Taira has joined Goodwill Industries of Hawaii which, during the last fiscal year, served 1,371 people through its 16 different job training, placement and support services programs. With Goodwill's assistance, 302 people were placed into jobs.

"We're in the process of the 'Give Thanks to Work' fund raising during November and December," Taira said. The campaign goal is $20,000.

She has 20 years of financial experience and for the past 10 years has worked with Tropical Trading Co. as a controller and secretary/treasurer. Taira, a certified public accountant since 1979, also worked five years at Ernst & Whinney. She is a member of the American Society of Women Accountants, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Leeward Pilot Club, which helps those with brain disorders. Taira earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Hawaii.
