Kauai camp open to teens

Take a ride on the wild side at Winner's Camp, a seven-day academic, social and "life-skills" program for teenagers from Aug. 3 to 9 on Kauai, Kahili Mountain Park. The tuition of $980 covers accommodations, meals, ground transportation, course materials, student manual, T-shirt and camp photo, full-day parent integration seminar and luncheon, continuing support and follow-up. Scholarship: The Organization of Chinese Americans (Hawaii Chapter) is offering 15 to 20 Jesse Cheng scholarships, worth $1,000 each, to Hawaii college students. Students must submit an application form, one-page autobiography, high school and/or college transcripts and two letters of recommendation. Deadline is Aug. 15. Call 527-8541 for information.

Disturbing Behavior: (PG-13) Katie Holmes is the new kid in town who discovers something sinister about the local pep rallies and bake sales.

Mafia!: (PG-13): A comedy treatment of the notorious Cortino family stars Jay Mohr, Lloyd Bridges, Olympia Dukakis, and Christina Applegate.

Saving Private Ryan: (R) Tom Hanks stars as the frightened leader of an eight-man squad that has survived D-Day and has been given the unwanted mission of tracking down a missing soldier, Pvt. James Ryan (Matt Damon).

The Negotiator: (R) Samuel Jackson plays Danny Roman, a newlywed hostage negotiator who's framed for a murder that he didn't commit. Co-stars Kevin Spacey.

Parent Trap: (PG) Dennis Quaid, and Natasha Richardson star in this remake of the 1960s film. On Saturday and Sunday.
