Services Sunday for
Walter Dods, retired officer
and banker's father

Walter A. Dods, a retired Honolulu Police Department sergeant and the father of Walter Dods Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of First Hawaiian Bank, died Tuesday in Honolulu. He was 83.

He was born in Kohala, Hawaii.

He is also survived by his wife, Mildred P.; sons Robert, Thomas and Richard; daughters Suzanne Chong Kee, Patricia Kosaki and Pauline Arellano; a sister, Helen Marie; a brother, Harry, and 18 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Sunday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Aloha attire.

Betty B. Dehay, 76, of Kailua, a physician, died Monday in Castle Hospital. She was born in Berkeley, Calif. She is survived by husband Dr. Raymond; sons Roger and Lawrence; daughters Charlotte Clausen and Cynthia Dehay; brothers Gerald and Alan Berger, and four grandchildren. Private services.

Della F. Foster, 32, of Honolulu, a former computer technician for Pacific Development Corp., died last Thursday. She was born in American Samoa. She is survived by father Michael; mother Evelyn; brothers Michael Jr. and Lorenzo, and sisters Christina, June, Lorraine and Evelyn. Services will be in American Samoa.

Ofilia E. Garza, 45, of Honolulu died June 7 in Honolulu. She was born in Texas. She is survived by son Rodney Mudd; daughter Cynthia DeCoss; father Amador; mother Elva Galloway; sisters Cynthia Bernal, Odett Giggey and Tracy Garza, and brothers John, Joe and Amado II. Services held.

Mayble C. Godde, 86, of Kailua died Sunday in Kailua. She was born in Ava, Mo. She is survived by daughter Sandy Haia. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall in Kailua. Casual attire.

Arnold W. Guerpo, 47, of Kona, Hawaii, died Sunday in Queen's Hospital. He was born in Haina, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Terry-Lynne; son Radford; daughters Tracey Brown and Gwen Guerpo; father Felix; brothers Clifford, Jeffrey, Felix and Clinton; sisters Rhonda Godsey and Cy Cabreros; hanai mother Judy Cuaresma; stepsisters Jane Burnham, Sandy Hiramoto and Jessica Keala, and a grandchild. Beatrice C. Hisatomi, 88, of Honolulu, a retired state employee, died June 10 in Honolulu. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Earl and Robert; sister Caroline Bowers, and two grandchildren. Private services.

William H.H. Kanekoa, 84, of Honokaa, Hawaii, a self-employed taro farmer, died Monday in Hale Hoola Hamakua. He was born in Waipio Valley, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Fannie; sons Craig, Caillen, Reginald, Rueben, Darrell, Kelcy, Ronald, William, Fred and Edward; daughters Jade Selman, Lehua Kealohapauole, Queenie Lee and Rebecca “Tiny” Sialana, 38 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. Ah Kee Leong, 79, of Honolulu, former owner of Leon's Edgewater Florist, died Friday in Straub Hospital. He was born on Ewa Plantation. He is survived by brothers Sun, Dunn and Ah Wai, and sisters Ah Jook Ku and Yuk Jun Joseph. Memorial services: 9 a.m. Saturday at Mililani Downtown Mortuary. Rosalind Moy Lew, 85, of Honolulu, a postal worker, died Saturday in Honolulu. She was born in Walnut Grove, Calif. She is survived by daughters Virginia Lau and Viola Simcox; sister Patricia Low; brothers Fred and Jow Q. Lee, six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Private services. Takeshi Nakagawa, 75, of Honolulu, a retired carpenter, died June 10 in Queen's Hospital. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by sister Sadame Nishimura. Private services.

Dionisio F. Pascua, 77, of Lanai City, a laborer for Dole Co. on Lanai, died Sunday in Lahaina. He was also a landscaper for Lanai Co. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Segundina; sons Orlando and Geriberth; daughters Martalina Yagyagan and Presentacion Matias; brothers Remigio and David; sisters Leonora, Cresencia and Betty, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
