Freitas has worked at Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii for 10 years and most recently was human resources manager. She also has worked in in human resources at Aloha Airlines and Marsh & McLennan Inc. in San Francisco.
Freitas has been a board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Honolulu since 1987. She is a member of the American Compensation Association and Society for Human Resources Management.
She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Gonzaga University and a master's in business administration from Chaminade University.
