Kalakaua carnival

Photography by George F. Lee, Star-Bulletin

Sun and sand aren't the only sights Waikiki have to offer.
When the sun goes down, Kalakaua Avenue turns into a carnival
of activity, recently captured by staff photographer George F. Lee.

Above, Tetsuhiro Ito, 3, of Japan and Mamola Dakota of Spain did
their best to get a reaction froom Silverman Robert Engels.
Below, tourist Maral Hagopian of California gets a henna skin
design from street artist Gili as a Japanese tourist looks on.

More of Lee's photo-essay in Features.
