Keiki can try their hand at constructing a paper model of a Chinese junk Saturday.

An arty journey to China

The whole family can take a peek at China beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday when the Honolulu Academy of Arts hosts "A Journey Into China."

The keiki-parent activity tour features views of the museum's Chinese galleries and the exhibitions, "Views of the Pearl River Delta" and "Adornment for Eternity: Status and Rank in Chinese Ornament."

Storyteller Barbara Wong will share Chinese folk tales and kids will have the opportunity to make a paper model of a Chinese junk.

The tour is geared toward children ages 6 through 12 accompanied by an adult. Admission is free and includes refreshments. No reservations are required. Meet at the academy's Beretania Street entrance promptly at 10 a.m.
