Making business less risky at Bankoh

John R. Andrews keeps tabs on risk as he looks after the internal audit and credit review activities of Bank of Hawaii and all other subsidiaries of Pacific Century Financial Corp.

Andrews reviews the accuracy of the loan-grading system used by loan officials.

He joined the bank in 1995, after 33 years in public accounting. He worked at Ernst & Young in Syracuse, N.Y., and transfered to the company's Honolulu office in 1973. He became a partner at Ernst & Young in 1979.

Andrews has served on the boards of Junior Achievement and Le Jardin Academy where he is currently treasurer.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. and is a certified public accountant in Hawaii and New York.
