Unbeaten Musashimaru shares New Year sumo lead

TOKYO - Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, remained undefeated at 4-0, along with his fellow ozeki (champion) Takanonami after today's fourth round of the 15-day New Year Grand Sumo Tournament.

Yokozunas (grand champions) Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, and Takanohana both improved to 3-1.

Musashimaru lost his balance from an initial charge by Akinoshima. But Musashimaru held off at the ring's edge and pushed his foe out.

Takanonami grabbed Tochinonada's belt tightly and sent him out.

Akebono charged Kaio with hand thrusts and bulldozed him out. Takanohana crushed down Tosanoumi.

Yamato, or George Kalima from Hawaii, drove out Mitoizumi and is 2-2.
