St. Louis returns
to national poll

By Pat Bigold

St. Louis has made it back into the National Prep Football Poll after a two-week absence.

The poll, conducted by Wheeling (West Va.) Intelligencer sports editor Doug Huff, places the Crusaders at No. 19 nationally this week. They are No. 5 in the West regional poll.

St. Louis dropped out of the poll after losing to Kamehameha in the last game of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu regular season. The Crusaders then won a league championship playoff with the Warriors for their 12th straight ILH title, and followed with a victory over Oahu Interscholastic Association champion Waianae for their 12th straight Oahu Prep Bowl title.

St. Louis is not ranked in the USA Today "Super 25." The Crusaders are listed 14th in a poll that appears in the Dick Butkus Football Network Web site (
