Ishii finishes tied
for fifth

KUNIGAMI, Japan -- Hawaii's David Ishii, who had shared the lead through the first three rounds, had a 70 and tied for fifth in the JPGA's season-ending Daikyo Open.

Kenichi Kuboya birdied two of the last three holes for a 6-under-par 65 and a one-stroke victory. Kuboya finished 21-under at 263. He had started the round in a four-way tie for the lead.

Ishii finished at 268.

PALAMA SETTLEMENT TOURNEYS: The top three girls teams competing in the fourth annual Palama Settlement Christmas tournament, tomorrow through Saturday, at the Palama Settlement Gym, will advance to a play three Kalakaua A.C. teams on Sunday, Dec. 21 at Kalani.

It was reported Saturday that the Sunday games would be held at another site.
