CaneFires’ rally
turns back Stars

The West Oahu CaneFires took the three-game series from the Hilo Stars, 2-1, on the strength of a five-run fifth inning in a 7-5 Hawaii Winter Baseball victory at Hans L'Orange Park last night.

Jim Chamblee's two-run homer, his third of the season, was the key hit for the CaneFires.

Stingrays 3, Sharks 0: At Wailuku, Mike Vavrek pitched eight innings, the longest of any HWB pitcher this season, to combine with Ryan Kohlmeier on a three-hit shutout for Maui.
