Akebono, Musashimaru
improve sumo marks to 5-1

TOKYO -- Hawaii wrestlers Akebono and Musashimaru improved their records to 5-1 today while Wakanohana retained the lead at 6-0 in the 15-day Autumn Grand Sumo tournament.

Grand champion Akebono, or Chad Rowan, lifted up Ganyu and set him outside the ring. Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani, bounced back from an upset loss yesterday and defeated Tochinonada. Grand champion Takanohana and Tochinowaka also are 5-1.

Wakanohana easily defeated Aogiyama, turning him around and quickly marching him out.

In the juryo division, just below the senior makuuchi division, No. 2-ranked Yamato, or George Kalima from Hawaii, pushed out Daishoho for his fifth victory against one defeat.
