Lisa Abundo, 61, of Aiea, a lecturer with Honolulu Community College, died Wednesday. She was born in Czechoslovakia. She is survived by son John; daughters Pam Hollmann and Heidi Deininger, and two grandchildren. Private services.

Louis A. Araujo III, 22, of Hilo, will be remembered in private services. He drowned Sunday after he was caught in a rip tide off Kehena Beach off the Puna Coast. Araujo was an employee of Keaau Banana. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by parents Louis Jr. and Jane; sisters Tammy Carvalho and Leslie Ann Araujo, and grandparents Louis and Elizabeth. Private services.

John E. Carney, 70, of Makakilo died last Friday. He was born in New Bedford, Mass. He is survived by daughter Jane P.; sons John P. and Sean E., and a grandson. Private services.

John M. “Mike” Devor, 50, of Haiku, Maui, former owner of Center Court Construction Co., died Aug. 21 in Maui Memorial Hospital. He was born in St. Louis. He is survived by wife Karen; stepchildren Joshua J. and Justin E. Thompson, and sister Lisa Devor. Services: 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church. A tree planting and potluck will follow at the family residence.

Marjorie Fuddy, 70, of Kamiloloa, Molokai, a state Department of Health computer programmer, died Sunday. She was born in Leichhardt, Australia. She is survived by daughters the Rev. Lynette Schaefer, Loretta Fuddy and Cynthia Bunch; sons Philip Golderman and Lewis Fuddy; brother Keith Ireland; sisters Sylvia Laverly and Dollie Bierley, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Scattering of ashes: 10 a.m. tomorrow at Camp Mokuleia. Memorial services: 4 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church, Hoolehua. No flowers. Donations suggested to Camp Mokuleia Campership Fund.

Ronald R. Helding, 52, of Honolulu died Aug. 21. He was born in Wisconsin. He is survived by companion John C. “Bud” Johnson, mother Gladys Helding and brother Robert. Private services.

Tokutaro Hirota, 97, of Honolulu, a retired warehouse supervisor for Del Monte, died Aug. 18 in Tripler Hospital. He was born in Hyogo-Ken, Japan. He is survived by sons George A. and Paul M.; daughter Helen Y. Pierce; sister Harue Nishimoto, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services: 5 p.m. Monday at Nuuanu Congregational Church. Casual attire. No flowers.

Hatsuko Ikehara, 86, of Honolulu died Aug. 21 in Leahi Hospital. She was born in Hawi, Hawaii. She is survived by son Thomas M., daughter Alice S. Nakama and three grandchildren. Private services.

Simeon G. Kaleo, 60, of Aiea, a truck driver, died Wednesday. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Dorcas; sisters Poni Edwards, Margaret Kapuaala, Mele Evans, Loke Huddy and Noelani Coltes; brothers Charles S. Jr. and George H. Dudoit, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Memorial services: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Oahu Cemetery Chapel. Call from 5 to 9 p.m.

Violet L.M. Meguro, 53, of Ewa Beach, a former employee of Ewa Bowling Center, died Saturday in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Nelson; son Nelson Jr.; daughter Annette Palenapa, mother Caroline K. Afong; brother Jacob Afong Jr.; sisters Caroline and Kay Chun and Marilyn Reyes, and three grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ewa Beach. Shizuko Oyama, 90, of Los Angeles, formerly of Honolulu, died Aug. 18 in Los Angeles. She is survived by brother Charles Sakamoto. Services were on the mainland.

Kaui‘heleole M.W.L. Pule, 58, of Honolulu died Sunday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by daughters Jacqueline K. Bourgoin, Lindy Eusebio and Desiree and Debrena Kanoe; sons Samuel and Tasi P. Kanoe Jr., and four grandchildren. Memorial services over ashes: 6 p.m. tomorrow at Oahu Cemetery Chapel. Violet S. Urata, 77, of Maili died Aug. 14 in Queen’s Hospital. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by sons Harry and Brent; daughters Norine Dias and Hilda Urata, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Memorial services: 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio.
