Keeping Nissan owners happy

Wayne Suehisa takes over the newly created position of vice president for customer services and retention at Nissan Motor Corp. in Hawaii Ltd.

"The whole automobile industry is focusing on customer," Suehisa said. "We are working on how we deliver after-sales service. We want to create a lifetime customer."

Suehisa said some Nissan dealers already offer discounts for loyal customers.

He will be responsible for overseeing all parts, service, warranty and long-term customer retention initiatives.

Suehisa joined Nissan in 1985 and has been vice president for administration and treasurer since 1996. He also was an accountant with Ernst & Whinney for five years.

Suehisa earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii.
