International Library of Famous Poets is sponsoring a free poetry competition. Grand prize is $1,000. Poems must be 21 lines or less and sent to: Free Poetry Competition, 421 N. Rodeo Drive, Suite 15-544, Beverly Hills, Calif., 90210. Only one poem per person. Deadline: July 30. Poems will not be returned.
International Imitation Raymond Chandler Writing Competition for writers who can imitate or parody Chandler's writing style. Three writers will win a $500, $300 or $200 prize. Entries must be typewritten, double spaced on 8-1/2 by 11-inch plain, white paper; approximately 500 words in length; make mention of La Jolla, Calif.; be unpublished; be titled; and have the author's name, address and phone number on the back of the entry. One entry per person.
