LAND

STATE LAND USE COMMISSION: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Outrigger Kauai Beach Hotel, Mokihana Ballroom, 4331 Kauai Beach Drive, Lihue, Kauai. Hearing to consider requests by Ameron H C & D for amendments to special permits regarding use of agricultural district land for quarry operations; request by the Department of Public Works & Waste Management, Solid Waste Division for a special permit for expansion of the Central Maui Landfill at Puunene, Maui; a request by Fong Construction for time extension to establish a construction baseyard at Waikapu, Maui; and a petition by Sports Shinko (Kauai) Co. Ltd.

HONOLULU DEPARTMENT OF LAND UTILIZATION: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, City Hall Annex, Personnel Conference Room. Hearing to consider a variance request by Felix P. Polendey to allow a two-family dwelling on a residential lot that exceeds restrictions at 45-104 Mokulele Drive, Kaneohe.

7 p.m. Thursday, Kahaluu Elementary School Cafeteria, 47-280 Waihee Road, Kahaluu. Hearing to consider a site plan review permit application by Laakea Hawaiian Resort Co. Ltd. to develop a private meeting facility for community use, including weddings, retreats and related activities. No overnight accommodations will be provided. Site is at 47-477 Waihee Place, Kaneohe.

STATE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES: 6 p.m. Thursday, Kalanimoku Building, Board Room 132, 1151 Punchbowl St. Hearing to receive testimony regarding establishment of a telecommunications antenna facility at Castle Junction interchange in Kaneohe. Information and maps of the general location of the area are available at 1151 Punchbowl St., Room 220.



LAW ENFORCEMENT

CITY LAW ENFORCEMENT ADVISORY BOARD: 6 p.m. tomorrow, City Hall Annex, Personnel Conference Room. Hearing to consider community needs for reducing crime and improving public safety, and on proposals for the use of funds received under the U.S. Department of Justice, Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program.



PLANNING

COUNTY OF HAWAII PLANNING COMMISSION: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Kona Surf Hotel, Kamehameha Ballroom, 78-128 Ehukai St., Keauhou, North Kona. Hearing to consider special permit applications by the County of Hawaii, Department of Public Works, Highway Maintenance Division to construct a new baseyard on approximately 3 acres in the State Land Use Agricultural District. Location is on the makai side of Kuakini Highway approximately 200 feet south of Higashihara Park at Honalo, North Kona; Virgil A. Place Arboretum and Botanical Garden Inc. to allow the construction of a visitors center and gift shop on approximately 5 acres in the State Land Use Agricultural District. Location is within the Kohala Estates Subdivision in North Kohala.
