Storm watch page
starts up today

Let's hope this Web site doesn't need to be updated too much. It is the new Federal Emergency Management Agency storm watch page at http://www.fema.gov.

The page starts today and runs during the hurricane season. It will be included in the nearly 5,000 files already posted on line by FEMA. There are enough alerts dealing with storms, floods, fires and other natural disasters that after a quick browse you won't ever want to leave your house again.

The tropical storm page, according to FEMA, will feature hourly updated hurricane paths, maps and satellite images.

"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
