Seasiders clinch
NAIAtennis title

Even with two days of competition left, the Brigham Young University-Hawaii women's tennis team has clinched the team title in the NAIA National Championships at Tulsa, Okla.

The Seasiders, with 41 points, moved 11 points ahead of runner-up Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) yesterday by placing three singles players and two doubles teams in today's semifinals.

The Lady Senators fell out of contention when they lost all their matches yesterday. They still had enough points to guarantee a second-place finish.

Teresa Stromberg, Karin Ptaszek and Paiao Short all won their quarterfinal singles matches yesterday for BYU-Hawaii. Yu-Hsein Liu teamed with Jenny Tielman and Anneli Ornstedt with Stromberg to reach the doubles semifinals.

In the men's singles, Hawaii Pacific's Eric Sandblom lost his quarterfinal match.

The BYU-Hawaii men's doubles teams of Wei-Yu Su and Toshihide Matsui, and Anirban Baruah and Matt Griffin both advanced through the fourth round.

HO, GARCIA MEET: Hawaii's Derek Ho posted the highest heat score to advance through the second round of the Marui Pro surf meet at Chiba, Japan, yesterday.
