Arturo Sandoval: 7:30 p.m. April 4 at the McKay Auditorium at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. Sandoval won the 1994 Grammy Awards Best Latin Jazz Music and Cuba's Best Instrumentalist Award from 1982 to 1990. John Denver: Presented by the Honolulu Symphony, Denver will perform 7:30 p.m. April 5, Waikiki Shell. Denver has written many songs including "Leaving On a Jet Plane" for Peter, Paul and Mary. He also hit the pop charts with "Take Me Home, Country Road," "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine On My Shoulders," and more. Besides singing and songwriting, Denver has acted in the movie "Oh, God" and the TV show "Foxfire." Tickets: $12.50-$45. Call 538-8863 or 545-4000.

"Friends of the Honolulu Symphony Education Program": Pianist Anton Kuerti will coach a master class, 2 p.m. April 5; and pianist Alain Jacquon, co-director of the Paris Conservatory of Music, will coach a master class, 1 to 3 p.m. April 6 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. A master class is an advanced study activity where performers/teachers share their experience and understanding of music. Cost: $5. Call 524-0815.

"Bolero": George Pehlivanian, principal guest conductor of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, April 6 and 8 for Ravel's "Bolero." Pianist Anton Kuerti will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25 in C major, K. 503, and his own Concertino for piano, flute, violin and string orchestra.
