Advancing in business banking

Todd Hoch, the first person hired to develop the Hawaii business banking division at Bank of America, has been promoted to vice president.

"We provide business financing without the need of businesses to provide financial statements," Hoch said. The program, Advantaged Business Credit, relies on the borrower's history of making payments, rather than financial statements, he said.

Hoch joined Bank of America in Hawaii four years ago, after working for First Hawaiian Bank and Tokai Bank in San Diego, Calif.

He was born in Illinois and moved to Hawaii in 1985 to attend the University of Hawaii, where he earned a bachelors degree in business administration/finance.

Hoch is a director of the American Cancer Society in Honolulu, and a member of Small Business Hawaii and the Building Industry Association of Hawaii.
