Flashlight tour: Find out what fishes do at night, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Waikiki Aquarium. Children must be at least 5-years-old and accompanied by an adult. Cost: $7 adult, $6 children. Aquarium members get a $1 discount. Register by mail. Call 923-9741.

Zoo by Moonlight: The Honolulu Zoo opens for tours when the moon is full, 7 to 9 p.m. March 21-24. Tickets: $7 adults, $5 children; purchase tickets in advance at the cashier's office. Call 971-7195.


Shore discoveries: Parents and their 4- to 5-year old children can learn where to go, what to wear, and how to explore marine environments, 9 to 11 a.m., Waikiki Aquarium. Limit: two children per adult. Cost: $14 nonmembers, parent and child; and $12 Aquarium members, parent and child. Additional person: $6. Register by mail. Call 923-9741.

Meet Moki the Gecko: Find out what happens to Moki in his latest adventure "Moki and the Magic Surfboard," 11 a.m., Borders, Waikele. Call 676-6699.

Bruce Hale, author of the Moki books, will be the guest storytime reader, 4 p.m. at the Ala Moana Center, Makai Food Court. He will also be signing books, 4:45 p.m. at Ala Moana Center, Honolulu Book Shops. Call 955-4742.

Sea creatures: Parents with children ages 3-months to 3-years can enjoy an introduction class to sea creatures, 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 28, Waikiki Aquarium. Art festival: Create a two-dimensional artwork reflecting what "Children's Day" means, for the 8th annual Children's Day art contest, sponsored by the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii. The contest is open to children in grades K through 8. Winners and selected entries will be on display at Honolulu Hale May 12-30. First and second place winners in each grade level will be awarded Central Pacific Bank Youth accounts. Deadline: May 1 for neighbor island entries and May 2 for Oahu entries. Register at 945-7633.
