Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai

Tonight, fair but with a few lingering showers. Tomorrow, mostly sunny after brief morning showers. Winds, southeast 10 to 20 mph turning to trades Saturday.

Big Island

Tonight, A few windward showers. Clearing elsewhere. Tomorrow, few showers windward in the morning and upslope in the afternoon. Mostly sunny otherwise. Southeasterly winds 10 to 20 mph turning trades Saturday.

Marine advisories

A high-surf advisory remains in effect for the north and west shores of all islands. Caution is advised due to strong and gusty winds associated with isolated thundershowers.

Coastal waters: Tonight, southeast winds 15 knots, seas 4 ft. Brief showers. Tomorrow, east winds 15 knots, seas 4 ft. Mostly sunny.

Volcano

Fresh lava can be seen deep inside Puu Oo cinder cone, but instruments show no underground volcanic activity.
