






The Oahu Leeward Chiefs won the Hawaii Football League championship with a 6-2 victory over the Maui Stars last Saturday in the Tsunami Bowl at War Memorial Stadium on Maui. Leeward Chiefs

The game-winning score was set up by defensive tackle Robert Vitale's fumble recovery.
The Stars were led by running back Danny Crowell, who gained 90 yards on 22 carries.
The 10th annual Kaimana Klassik Ultimate Tournament will be held Feb. 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Waimanalo Polo Fields. ULTIMATE TOURNAMENT

Kent Nishijima of Kapalua Golf Courses on Maui was named a regional winner of an Environmental Steward Award in recognition of his outstanding work to protect and enhance the local environment. NISHIJIMA HONORED
Winners are chosen for their overall course management excellence, outstanding programs to maximize pesticide and fertilizer efficacy, irrigation and equipment efficiency and wildlife preservation and habitat enhancement. Thirty-one golf course superintendents were honored nationwide.
