The Spencer Brothers, or TSB, two kids from Schofield Barracks who have been the hit of local talent shows, became New York hits recently when they performed at the famous Apollo Theatre.

They won the national competition for their age group. Their performance can be seen on "Showtime at the Apollo" airing at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 1 on KIKU.

The Apollo Theatre has been the launching site for many famous entertainers since the 1920s.

Freddy Spencer, 10, and Isaiah Spencer, 8, may be the next to be discovered. But for now, they attend Hale Kula Elementary School.

The boys learned their stuff from parents Fred Spencer, a dance contest winner as a teen-ager, and Rosalyn Spencer, a singer who now serves in the 84th Engineers Battalion at Schofield Barracks.

The brothers have competed in the Keiki Stars show on Oceanic cable television, won the Rising Star Talent Contest at Schofield, were a warm-up act for a Houdini appearance at the Groove teen dance club and performed at "Breakfast with Santa" at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center's "Legends in Concert" showroom.
