Training for diversification

Lena L.F. Young joins Hilo Hattie, the Store of Hawaii, as it continues expanding and diversifying.

"We now have a petite line of clothing for women and we've diversified into Hilo Hattie-labelled coffee, jams, jellies, candies and spices," Young said.

She will be responsible for employee recruitment, training, employee compensation and benefits.

Young most recently was vice president and human resources consultant at Bank of America. She also worked for Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate as associate personnel director and for Bank of Hawaii as assistant vice president.

Young earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. She is a director of the Society for Human Resource Management and a trustee of Friends of the Library Endowment Fund.
