Hit the Wall

Photos by George F. Lee, Star Bulletin

Eileen and Melissa Castillano, from left, have fun building a wall
of used sponges at an aid station near the Kahala Mall after
yesterday's Honolulu Marathon. Of the 30,824 people who entered,
24,427 managed to finish the event, making it the third largest
marathon in the U.S. behind Boston (35,868) and New York (28,182).

Below, runners tramp through debris left by runners
that came before them.
