THURSDAY

Starring the animals: Zoolites holiday display features life-size light sculptures of animals at the Honolulu Zoo. Open 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until Jan. 4. Admission is $3 adults, $1 children. Call 926-3191.



SATURDAY

Animal Training 201: Youth ages 13 to 18 learn about careers at Sea Life Park, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Costs $15. Register at 259-6476.

Keiki Christmas: Parasol Puppets present "Christmas Around the World," then kupuna show how to make Hawaiian Christmas ornaments, at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. For the free Keiki-Parent Activity Tour, meet 10 a.m. at the Beretania Street entrance. Call 532-8700.

Family Fishing Day: Bring bamboo poles, barbless hooks and bait to catch and release tilapia at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free. Don't forget walking shoes, bug repellent, rain gear and a picnic. Reserve at 233-7323.

On the Go With H20: Water scientists ages 3 to 5 try wet and wild experiments, then take a short hike in search of fresh water, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hawai'i Nature Center. Costs $7. Reserve at 955-0100.



CONTINUING

"Spiders!" on display: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Jan. 1 at Bishop Museum. See how Hawaii spiders fit into arachnid society and try interactive games. Admission is $14.95 general, $11.95 youths, seniors and military. Call 847-3511.

Tropical plant nature walk: 10 a.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. Free. Call 233-7323 for reservations.

Afterschool Adventures: The Honolulu Zoo plans a week of activities for children ages 5 to 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Dec. 13. Costs $70. Call 971-7195.

Natural Holiday Ornaments: Families learn to make gifts and wrapping paper from natural and recycled materials, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 15 at the Hawai'i Nature Center. Costs $7. Reserve at 955-0100.
