Saunders takes helm at W.H. Shipman

Bob Saunders is taking over as president of W. H. Shipman Ltd., replacing Bob Cooper who is leaving at the end of the year to pursue consultant and teaching work. Cooper has been president since June 1994.

"I'm very pleased to be with Shipman. We'll be making an announcement soon on a future development (on Shipman land)," Saunders said. W. H. Shipman is involved in development of agricultural, residential and commercial properties in the Puna district of the Big Island. It also developed an industrial park on Volcano Highway at the Puna-Hilo boundary.

Saunders was the company's first vice president and served for two years as development manager. He was involved in the company's agricultural leasing program and land management. He has development experience in Hawaii with Kaiser Aetna and Blackfield Hawaii.
