Kanagawa University Symphonic Band: Award-winning 60-member band from Japan performs noon Friday at the Campus Center Ballroom, University of Hawaii-Manoa, and 2 p.m. Sunday at Ala Moana Centerstage.

Free concert: The Northwest Airlines All-Star Band, featuring Felix Cavaliere, Lou Gramm and Billy Preston, performs 4 p.m. Friday at Fort DeRussy Beach, Waikiki. Honolulu Symphony: “The Magic of the Flute” with host Joe Moore and Ransom Wilson as guest conductor and soloist, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Hawaii Theatre.
