Aloha Friday Luncheon: The Ilikai/Hotel Nikko's Friday luncheon is sold-out, but it's not too late to make reservations for the next one, coming up June 28. The monthly event features live radio broadcasts from Canoes restaurant, with KCCN hosts Brickwood Galuteria and Keaumiki Akui. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests can sample Hawaiian foods, as well as listen to guest entertainers. The cost is $14.95 for adults and $8.95 for children ages 5 to 12. Chefs on TV: Kahala Moon chef Kelvin Ro shows up on KITV's "Entrees to Paradise with Pamela Young" at 6 p.m. Saturday, cooking up Grilled Portobello Mushrooms and Vegetables. On June 1, Bruno Chemel of Cliquo serves up Poached Opakapaka.
"Smoke on the Water": Gordon Biersch's monthly series of cigar smoker events continues with this benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a hosted bar with house beer, wine, port, heavy pupu and two cigars. Admission is $60 ($25 tax deductible). Hosted by Spadaro's Sausage Co.
