The 62nd annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade was held yesterday along Ala Moana Boulevard and Kalakaua Avenue from Ala Moana Beach Park to Kapiolani Park. The parade featured floats, pau riders, hula performers and marching bands. Members of the Honolulu Boy Choir, from left, Jason Pires, Paris Kai and Lala Fitumauina, waved to the crowd during the festivities, along with their Executive Director Blake Nuibe on the far right. Aloha Festivals events continue today at the Aloha Tower Marketplace with the Third Annual Ukulele Contest at 10 a.m. Aloha Festivals, first held in 1947 as Aloha Week, has become a celebration of Hawaiian culture through music, dance, food and art.

TEST RUN FOR PRIMARYDENNIS ODA / DODA@STARBULLETIN.COM
The Office of Elections conducted an official test of the absentee-ballot counters and data network yesterday in the Senate chambers at the State Capitol. From left, observer David Harris joined David Rosenbrook and Scott Nago from the Office of Elections as they looked at the sample ballots used in the testing. The primary election is Saturday.
