Littoral explosions at the Waikupanaha ocean entry from Kilauea volcano on the Big Island created a vigorous plume on Tuesday. At the base of the plume, on the right, is the littoral cone built by recent explosions. On the left is a littoral explosion that cast ash and rock about 10 yards in the air.
