Zoo event benefits the Hawaii

» See KITV4's coverage | Jace Yacas-Sandoval, 2, rode in the front seat of the wagon as his cousin Alyssa Rabanal, 3, and brother Ashton, 4, took back seats yesterday at the Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation's "Jungle Adventure" at the Honolulu Zoo. Jace has been undergoing treatment for a bilateral Wilms tumor. The benefit event coincided with National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this month and brought attention to HCCF's programs, which primarily provides financial assistance to families who have children with cancer. Capt. Ron Bode and other Honolulu Police Department officers held a salute yesterday as the HPD color guard began ceremonies for the Remembrance Walk starting at the police headquarters on South Beretania Street. The ceremony was held in honor of the 343 emergency responders who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
