AlohaCare Hawaii has donated $5,000 to improve a 2-mile pathway from Lualualei Naval Road to Kaukama Road along the Waianae Coast to help prevent adult and childhood obesity. The path, which is used for biking, walking and jogging, will connect to the state's proposed bike path and provide an alternative mode of transportation. Eventually the project, proposed by state Rep. Maile Shimabukuro (D, Waianae-Makaha-Makua) will extend the path along the entire coastline.
