Get ready for annual Gridiron Show
Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Gridiron Show, the annual rowdy parody of Hawaii's political scene put on by the Society for Professional Journalists, Hawaii chapter.
The production returns to Diamond Head Theatre Oct. 24 and 25, with its aim of making fun of everyone who dares to be a public figure in our state. This year's theme: "Predatory Pricing." Shows are at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 and 3 and 8 p.m. Oct. 25.

Former UH trainer to hold book signings
Melody Toth, a former trainer with the University of Hawaii athletic program, will sign copies of her new book, "Let's Go 'Bows! Behind the Scenes with University of Hawaii Sports" (Watermark, $16.95), throughout the month.
Toth kept a journal of her 30 years with the women's volleyball program and the men's basketball team, and draws from that source for the stories in her book. Her signing schedule:
Friday: 4:30 p.m., Phiten Hawaii, Pacific Guardian Tower, 1440 Kapiolani Blvd. (a portion of book sales will go to the UH athletic training foundation)
Saturday: 1 p.m., Barnes & Noble, Kahala Mall; and 3 p.m., Borders Windward Mall
Sept. 20: 2 p.m., Borders Ward Centre
Sept. 25: noon, University of Hawaii Center for Biographical Research, Henke Hall No. 325
