Mauian features special fall rates

The Mauian, a small 44-unit property featuring boutique beach studios on Maui's Napili Bay, is offering a 15 percent discount off ocean-view units for fall travel.

Ocean-view rates at the Mauian are ordinarily $195 per night, but the discount brings the rate down to $165 per night for stays from Sept. 1 through Dec. 22. The discounted rate is for double occupancy, subject to applicable taxes, and cannot be combined with other special offers at the Mauian.

Built by a Hawaiian family in 1959, the 2-acre, low-rise property is located on West Maui's crescent-shaped Napili Beach and is known for its nostalgic "1950s tropics" architecture and relaxed ambience.

Units are 350-square-foot studios with kitchens and private lanais. Ocean-view and oceanfront units feature stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops in kitchen and bath, Tempur-Pedic beds and new furnishings.

Twelve Garden View units feature island decor with furnishings of rattan, bamboo and other tropical touches. To preserve its character as a peaceful, beachfront hideaway, the Mauian does not have phones, stereos or television sets in its guest studios.

Television is available in the property's community Ohana Room, also featuring a library of books, games and movies, and free high-speed wireless Internet access. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast daily in the Ohana Room and a weekly poolside "Aloha Party" Thursday nights.

Rack rates at the Mauian through Dec. 22 are $250 for oceanfront, $195 for ocean view and $160 for garden-view studios. Rates are per night based on double occupancy and are subject to applicable Hawaii taxes. Call toll free (800) 367-5034 or visit www.mauian.com.
