KCC culinary student Nip wins scholarship
Les Amis d'Escoffier Society of Hawaii awarded its second Auguste Escoffier Scholarship Award, worth $1,000, to
Justin Nip, a culinary arts major at Kapiolani Community College.
Nip holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor's from Loyola Marymount University.
Carlsmith Ball LLP awarded $150,000 to the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa to establish the school's first Law Faculty Scholar position.
The Carlsmith Ball Faculty Scholar fund will offer financial support for faculty research and scholarships for professors.
Waipahu Community Foundation awarded several grants in support of educational and youth programs: Waipahu High School, $35,000; the Friends of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park, $10,000; Village Park Athletic Association, $5,000; Boy Scout Troop 32, $2,478; and Troop 76, $3,486.
The foundation also awarded scholarships to Waipahu students Kristel Agustin, Sherlyn Alcoran, Angelie Angeles, Sean Cozo, Noelle Enos, Normie Galapon, Dayne Kealanahele-Querubin, Jennifer Lucas, Alohalyn Miguel and Raymond Ngo.
