According to Joe

Universal health care in my lifetime?
Health care has been waiting 20-plus years
For politicians with a social conscience.
The naysayers constantly feed our fears
By spooking us with a lot of nonsense.
The opponents stall with that clever charade
As the debate goes round and round
I'd like to wait, but I'm truly afraid
When enacted I'll be in the ground.
Daily headlines inspire the poet in Joe Gedan, a retired U.S. magistrate judge who lives in Honolulu. His observations on the news appear on Sundays and Fridays.
