Tickets on sale for minifestival of first-run international movies

Tickets are now on sale for the latest extension of the Hawaii International Film Festival.
Playing off its already popular spring showcase and main fall event, HIFF fills in the last days of summer with a minifestival of six first-run features at the Honolulu Academy of Arts' Doris Duke Theatre.
From Aug. 22-24, films from Korea, the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong and India will be screened: for "hallyu" fanatics, "Once Upon a Time in Korea" and "Public Enemy Returns"; Werner Herzog's latest documentary, this time about Antarctica and "Encounters at the End of the World"; the Japanese drama "Walking My Life"; a Hong Kong version of "Cinema Paradiso" called "Mr. Cinema"; and a new Bollywood offering titled "A Little Love, A Little Magic."
Special ticket prices are $10 general; $9 students, seniors, children and military; and $8 per person for groups of 10 or more.
