China Revisited

By Richard Walker

Photograher Kim Taylor Reece visited Beijing in July, and found a city in flux. He hadn't been there for five years, and decided to accompany artist Wyland, who was creating a mural there.

"We went in there to cheer him on," Reece says.

While there, Reece snapped photos of people and places that grabbed his attention. "There are so many things going on over there," he says. "The country has gone into the 21st century with a big bang."

Reece, who usually works with black-and-white film, opted to use a digital camera while in China.

"I kind of went off in a different direction," he says.

China's people left an impression on Reece, who will be returning to Beijing this week to watch the Olympics.

"The people there are just great, really helpful," he says.
