Members of E.K. Fernandez's setup crew erected the Super Sizzler ride yesterday afternoon as they and other carnival workers prepared for this year's Honolulu Family Festival to be held at Magic Island. Honolulu 100, which oversaw the City and County's yearlong centennial celebration in 2006, has extended the festival from one to two weekends this year, beginning Aug. 7 and running to Aug. 17. Admission is free and proceeds from food and scrip sales will go toward the maintenance of Ala Moana Beach Park. Call 924-1907 or visit honolulufamilyfestival.com for more information.
